Massachusetts Mutual Life Insurance company is entering into the institutional BTC game along with a whopping $100M investment in bitcoin, while $5M in an equity stake in NYDIG.
The twin plays both uncovered in a Thursday official statement give MassMutual direct presentation to the digital money’s value swings and sign it’s wagering that other large fish will go with the same pattern. NYDIG is one of the quickest developing institutional crypto shops with $2.3 billion under administration. It gave MassMutual the $100 million purchases.
Without explicitly clarifying why it saw bitcoin as sensible speculation, MassMutual disclosed to WSJ it was looking for estimated at this point significant to an undeniably digital space.
