Luxury marketplace UNXD, which is based on the Polygon network, and Decentraland, a virtual reality stage based on the Ethereum blockchain, plan to offer a metaverse fashion week with catwalk shows, pop-up shops, and all-nighters in March.
The fashion program, Decentraland’s first, will occur March 24-27. The show will permit clients to see fashion in a virtual environment and buy outfits for their online avatars. In a Sunday tweet, Decentraland called for designers, brands and fashionistas to have their virtual collections prepared to introduce in the metaverse.
The metaverse may address a market chance of more than $1 trillion in yearly revenue, crypto investment monster Grayscale said in a report recently. In one more sign of increased interest, Facebook as of late changed its corporate name to Meta and reported its metaverse will support non-fungible tokens (NFTs).
