Christie’s NFT chief has been hired by Yuga Labs to oversee CryptoPunks.
Noah Davis, Christie’s head of non-fungible tokens, has joined Yuga Labs to handle the famed CryptoPunks collection, which Yuga Labs recently purchased. He announced his move to Yuga Labs as the CryptoPunks Brand Lead on Twitter. He also emphasized that there would be no “rushed utilities or thoughtless airdrops” in the CryptoPunks collection. Davis went on to explain that the community will be in charge of the CryptoPunk NFTs and that he would be happy to meet Punk holders at the NFT NYC event. Davis has become a popular name in the NFT sector thanks to his work at Christie’s, a traditional British auction house.
He was instrumental in the $69 million auctions of Beeple’s ‘The First 5,000 Days,’ which is the most valuable NFT. Christie’s made $150 million in NFT sales in 2021 under his leadership. Punk holders will soon have economic rights to their NFTs, according to a tweet from Yuga Lab co-founder Garga. The goal has always been, according to Garga, to transfer rights to holders. However, given of CryptoPunks’ prominence in the business, there was no need to hasten the procedure. Noah Davis has also been hired, according to Garga. The legendary NFT collection, which has seen a jump in transaction volume and an increase in its floor price, looks to be defying the current bear market trend. According to CryptoSlam, the volume of transactions has decreased by almost 16 percent in the last 24 hours. It is, however, the most traded collection, with almost $6 million in transactions over the time period. The collection has experienced the second-highest sales volume in the last seven days, with over $22 million in sales. CryptoPunks are currently selling for 68 ETH ($73,372), up 10% in the last 24 hours and 40% in the previous seven days, according to nft price floor.
