Elon Musk has acquired a new canine companion. It’s a Shiba Inu, the same breed as Dogecoin’s mascot.
Musk is now so wealthy and well-known that if he even exhales in the direction of a dog-themed cryptocurrency, the market for dog coins will wrap itself around his breath.
His recent post about his new dog has sparked interest in decentralized dog markets. After Musk tweeted about his new dog on Friday, the price of Shiba Inu coin increased by 17%, from $0.000006771 to $0.000007935. Dogecoin’s price didn’t change much.
Floki is the name given to Musk’s new puppy. A fan-based wiki identifies Floki as an “incorrigible prankster” from the TV drama Vikings.
After Musk revealed the name of his new dog, many people minted Floki cryptocurrency. On Poocoin, a site that records the prices of various shitcoins, there are dozens of them.
The news was picked up by the crypto magazine Benzinga. One Floki cryptocurrency surged by 3,500 percent, according to the research. Since they are backed by nothing but a guy and his dog, we believe that all of these coins have multiplied exponentially.
