Signature Bank Provided more PPP Loans to Crypto Firms

The Signature bank extended a number of more loans under the federal Paycheck Protection Program to crypto businesses than was earlier reported. CEO Joseph DePaolo said, over $20M of the $1.9B in PPP loans the bank extended were provided to almost 40 firms in the digital asset industry. The executive will not disclose the name of the firms to whom it gave PPP loans or provide an exact number of firms who opted out for a loan through the relief program. 

Signature’s $1.9 billion in advances represents generally .55% of the whole $350 billion that was dispensed through the U.S. Private company Administration. The news further uncovers a more profound need in the crypto business for alleviation in the wake of the worldwide monetary emergency brought about by the COVID-19 pandemic.
