Luxury Resorts at Soneva Now Accept Cryptocurrency Payments. Hotel chain Sunva has reportedly started accepting cryptocurrency payments at its resorts in the Maldives and Thailand. Accepting digital currencies as a payment method is another example of making payments easier for our international guests from anywhere in the world. Hotel chain Sonva has reportedly started accepting Bitcoin and Ethereum payments at its resorts. Soneva has three resorts in the Maldives (Soneva Bushi, Soneva Johnny and Soneva at Aqua). The company also has a resort in Thailand (Sonewa Giri). Bitcoin and Ether can be used to pay for the ownership of Soneva Villa.
To accept digital currencies, Soneva has partnered with two companies: crypto payment solution provider Triple-A and payment platform provider Pomelo Pay. Triple A is approved by the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS). Sonova explained that Bitcoin and Ether payments are not 100% refundable, but credits can be redeemed under a flexible cancellation policy. The terms and conditions of the company make it clear that digital currencies are processed by third parties on their own terms. “Sonova accepts and withdraws cryptocurrency only during the transaction and does not include additional fees from third parties,” according to its website. Accepting digital currencies as a payment method is another example of making payments easier for our international guests from anywhere in the world. “At Soneva, we have always strived to be pioneers in the hospitality industry,” said Soneva CFO Bruce Bromley. He added: Another way we make it simple for our international visitors to make payments from any location in the world is by accepting cryptocurrency.
