Lancium, the Houston-based data center power management firm, signed a $2.4 billion development partnership with Taylor County in Texas and the city of Abilene to construct a huge scope, environmentally friendly energy-powered data center.

Lancium Will Focus of Bitcoin Mining and Other Energy Intensive Apps

Lancium will assemble the office, which will zero in on bitcoin mining and other energy-intensive applications, in the north focal Texas city, beginning in the principal quarter of 2022, as per an official statement.

Lancium CEO Michael McNamara stated that they picked Abilene for our second Clean Campus in view of its optimal area, closeness to bountiful breeze and solar generation, great labor force and the chances to fill in the future. The data center campus will begin at 200 megawatts, with an extension capacity to more than 1 gigawatt.

Lancium said the organization and its clients are wanting to spread the investment north of 20 years to assemble a Clean Campus on roughly 800 sections of land, making 57 everyday positions.

Lancium Brought $150M in Financing

On November 24, Lancium brought $150 million up in financing and noticed that its data centers will have bitcoin mining, high throughput figuring, just as other energy intensive applications, while giving power management administrations.

On September 15, Lancium said it began building a 325-megawatt data center in Fort Stockton, Texas, for bitcoin mining, which will be completely practical by the final quarter of the following year.
