The pseudonymous creator of the Bitcoin.org site, has been ordered by the London’s High Court to stop hosting its duplicate of the BTC white paper. Wright’s representation, Ontier LLP stated on Monday, due to the copyright concerns brought forward by nChain Chief Scientist Craig Wright, the judge had no choice but to rule a default judgement since Cobra did not made any appearance.
Also, an order requiring the website to publish a duplicate of the court’s order was also issued, though, an inquiry will be held to find the damages caused by Cobra against Wright, Ontier stated. Bitcoin.org is an independent open-source project that focuses on supporting the BTC development. Although, its developer and the website have been involved in a series of legal threats.
The judge David Hodge QC issued an order forbidding Cobra from violating Wright’s copyright in the United Kingdom, either via making the white paper accessible for download on the Bitcoin.org site or in any other possible way.
Procedings were given on Feb. 24 of this current year in the Intellectual Property List of the Business and Property Courts of England and Wales. In April, Wright was conceded authorization to serve Cobra and looked for a presentation that he possesses the copyright to the Bitcoin white paper, asserting Cobra was encroaching his rights.
