So, why does Tom Brady, a seven-time Super Bowl champion quarterback, keep tweeting about cryptocurrency? He responded to it and a few other questions during a Q&A on TwitterSpaces today, which was mostly intended to promote his new role as an FTX brand ambassador.

In a half-hour chat with FTX founder and CEO Sam Bankman-Fried, Brady said, “I want to be a pioneer in this sector.”

Brady talked about his new entrance into blockchain and why he chose to collaborate with FTX, a quickly rising cryptocurrency exchange with a unique charity objective. The exchange has pledged to donate 1% of all “net fees” to charity and has already raised $10 million.

Brady stated that, aside from crypto, it was FTX’s charity objective that drew him in: “I got a call about a cooperation,” he recalled. “A person I work with has a lot of amazing information about this space,” said the caller. I genuinely think this would be something you’d be interested in,” he continued. Brady said the presentation piqued his interest, and he began researching the company, which led to an investment and his current position.

Brady, 43, announced that he and his wife, supermodel Gisele Bundchen, would serve as brand ambassadors for FTX on a variety of projects. He stated that she will focus on the charitable component of the collaboration and assist in deciding which charities to support with the funds raised through the exchange.
